Her singles title came at the WTA BNP Paribas Open. This Singles Title was big for Jelena Jankovic as she had to beat Caroline Wozniacki in the championship round. There is always an added benefit of confidence when you beat one of the top players in the world in the process of winning a Singles Title.
In her victory over Caroline Wozniacki, Jankovic looked quite impressive. She managed to win in straight sets over Caroline Wozniacki with a match score of 6-2, 6-4.
Jankovic is considered to be one of the toughest players in women’s tennis. She is not the type of player that puts you away offensively, but rather plays a strong defensive game. Her strongest shot his her backhand shot, which she uses when the opportunity comes to hit a winner. Her stamina is impressive and allows her to play in nearly every tournament that she would like to take part in. Her ability to play well in every tournament allows her to keep near the top of the WTA World Rankings. With an improving serve, Jankovic is a formidable 7th ranked player in the world.
