This completely offsets the impressive match that she had earlier in the year. This sort of inconsistency is tough to swallow for a competitor like her.

Part of the inconsistency of Bartoli could be attributed to her unorthodox style of play. She uses both hands when hitting her forehand and her backhand. Her full swinging, two handed strokes tend to leave her a step behind her opponents when they hit a good shot. The faster players in the league tend to have an advantage over her because of her lack of mobility.
