Serena Williams

Serena Williams is sitting atop the Women’s tennis world with the number one ranking in the WTA World Rankings. Serena Williams has started the season with a very strong showing. Despite having played in just 2 tournaments this year, Serena Williams is already 10-1 on the season.

In both tournaments that Serena Williams has played in she has advanced to the championship round of the tournaments. This includes a Grand Slam victory at the Australian Open. Throughout the entire tournament at the Australian Open Williams dropped only 2 sets. As a side note, Serena also managed to take the Double Title with her sister Venus Williams.

Serena Williams remains a dominant force in women’s tennis. Though she has been playing for years and has seen a few ups and downs, she is at the top of the game in 2010.

Williams uses a powerful serve. Her serve has been clocked at the second highest speed ever in the WTA. The only player to ever hit a harder serve was actually her sister, Venus Williams. Serena also has one of the most powerful forehand shots and backhand shots in the world. Some believe that her backhand shot may be the best shot of any individual in women’s tennis.

Serena still has all of the tools to be in the championship round of every tournament. In the past there were many distractions that kept Serena from remaining consistent. It appears that Serena has everything in line and is poised to remain the top player in women’s rennis.
